New Merck Sharp & Dohme Vaccine Facility
Wednesday 12 November 2008 €200 million state-of-the-art vaccines manufacturing and R&D facility in Carlow, Ireland.
Merck Sharp & Dohme Biologics, a subsidiary of Merck, is developing a new VBSF (Vaccine, Biologics, Sterile Facility) facility which will involve a formulation and sterile filling operation and an R&D team to support a number of recently launched vaccines and new products in the future.
Located on a 65-acre site, the facility is due to be operational by 2011. PM is providing architectural and engineering design, procurement and construction management services for this project.
PM is also working on another project for Merck at its other Irish site in Tipperary. This 6,500 m² Oral Solid Dose Research and Development facility will manufacture final stage solid dosage forms (tablets and capsules)
