PM Graduate Engineer on Volunteer Project in South Africa

In an Article in the Engineers Journal, Aoife Murphy a Graduate Structural Engineer with PM Group in Dublin, tells of her experiences when she travelled with the Niall Mellon Trust to Capetown, South Africa.

Aoife worked there with a group of 1400 others to build housing in the Township of Freedom Park, Tafelsig.

The Niall Mellon Township Trust, named after its Irish founder, was established in 2002.  Niall Mellon personally funds all administration costs as well as making substantial donations.

“It was an amazing experience.  The atmosphere was incredible. Everyone out there wanted to work hard and give as much as they could to the people in the townships.”
