Sustainability and The Pharmaceutical Industry

PM Group was delighted to host an evening seminar entitled 'Sustainability and the Pharmaceutical Industry' on behalf of the ISPE UK Central Region at PM Groups Rugby office recently.

The aim of this seminar was to demonstrate the benefits of factoring environmental sustainability into project design and operation. A number of key industry speakers participated:

    Dr Barry McDermott, PM Group Environmental and Sustainability Services
  • ISPE Facility of The Year Award 2009 for Sustainability
    Con Leddy, PM Group Associate Director, Group Sustainable Energy Engineering  
    Con presented a case study on the Centocor Biologics Ireland project, which was recently awarded the ISPE Facility of the Year Award in the Sustainability category.
  • Working to Embed Sustainability Within GSK
    Richard Henderson, GSK, EHS Group
    Richard presented an overview on how GSK is working to embed sustainability into its operations, including working with supply chain partners and as part of the ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable.
  • Plant Optimisation – Saving money, energy and reducing waste
    David Lovett, MD, Perceptive Engineering Ltd
    David presented on key issues of sustainability – saving money, energy and reducing wastage through Plant Optimisation.

  • Energy & Carbon Management
    Steve Barker, Siemens Energy & Power Quality – A&D Strategy Team
    Steve presented on the development of a best practice approach to energy and carbon management
