Project Win in Jordan

PM Group has been awarded an EU funded project by the Ministry of Planning and International Co-operation, of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.


This is PM International Consulting’s first success in the Mediterranean/North Africa region, where EU assistance is funded by the MEDA programme. PM had stiff competition from seven leading UK, Dutch and Danish consultancies, some with a proven track record in the region.

The overall objective of this technical assistance project is to assist the Ministry of Environment (MoE) in fulfilling its obligations under the EU-Jordan Association Agreement and the EU Wider Europe Neighbourhood Action Plan by providing assistance in building its
institutional capacities as well as by developing and enforcing environmental legislation based on the EU and international legislative standards. The specific project objectives include:

  • Establishing an effective institutional management system
    for environmental development programming
  • Monitoring and enforcement capacity in the MoE
  • Optimizing the organisational structure of the MoE
  • Assisting in the process of approximation of relevant environmental legislation to EU and international standards
  • Implementing a staff development plan prepared by previous EU-funded assistance and other donors.
