PM Group Polish Sites win National Safety Awards

Tuesday 10 January 2006

PM Group's Public Sector construction programme is forging ahead in Poland, Slovakia and Romania with some 32 construction contracts.  20 of these have already commenced and 3 have recently been successfully completed, on time and within budget. The overall programme has a capital works value of circa €360m.

Within the context of this demanding programme, two of PM Group's contract sites have won significant safety awards from the Polish National Labour Inspectorate.  ‘Safe Site of the Year 2005’ awards are presented in each of the Polish regions. The award is made on the basis of physical on-site Health and Safety as well as assessment of supporting documentation.

Jelenia Gora Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Silesia Region, under construction by Skanska S.A., was one of the sites conferred. Meanwhile in the Pomeranian region, Szczecin Granular Activated Carbon Water Treatment Plant under construction by Energopol / Degremont Consortium, was the winner.

The safety of our own personnel, and indeed of everybody on-site is of foremost importance to PM Group's and the achievement of excellence in this field is a priority.  To be associated with two of these regional winners is a testament not just to PM Group's stewardship as contract Engineer but also to the competence and dedication of the Contractors involved .
