Tyndall National Institute
The Institute is a focal point for ICT and networking research in Ireland. Its interdisciplinary activities include the areas of microelectronics, photonics and the interfaces between electronics and life sciences.
Tyndall National Research Institute
The Tyndall National Research Institute was established by University College Cork to focus on microelectronics research. Today it is the largest multi-disciplinary Research and Development centre in Ireland with over 275 researchers and staff, along with a significant infrastructure.
The centre plays an important role in attracting overseas companies into the country by ensuring the availability of high quality infrastructural support for high-tech industries.
PM has led several projects at the Institute including office design and construction, process and laboratory enhancements.
The most recent project involved a new 4,800m² development which consolidates the 275 research scientists, engineers and students to create a critical mass of ICT, research and support infrastructure.
The completed facility will contain 17,000m² of high quality research and support space, fabrication facilities, visiting researcher facilities, and industry incubation and research space. PM Group were appointed project managers, civil and structural engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, process engineers and quantity surveyors.
