Supervision of extension and upgrade of Brzeg sewerage system

The Municipality of Brzeg is the recipient of EC grant assistance under the ISPA Programme for the execution of works which include the modernisation and extension of the system of collection and treatment of sewage.  The objective of the programme is to improve the operation of the Brzeg sewerage system, and particularly to improve the effectiveness of the waste water treatment, so as to meet the requirements of the Polish law and EU Directives.

Further to a Technical Assistance tender funded by the EC ISPA Programme, a Consortium led by PM was selected to provide technical assistance services in relation to the Brzeg project. The Project Works are tendered under three contracts, two following FIDIC «New Red Book» conditions of contract (covering employer designed construction contract) and the third following FIDIC «New Yellow Book» conditions of contract (covering plant and design-build construction contract).

Works Contracts

  • Sludge and biogas management system for the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Brzeg;
  • Construction of a sewerage system in Lubsza, Olawa and Olszanka municipalities (150 km of pipelines etc.)
  • Construction of a sewerage system in Lewin Brzeski and Skarbimierz municipalities (90 km of pipelines etc.)


Scope of PM services:

PM in its role as consortium leader is responsible for supervising the three Works Contracts in accordance with the relevant FIDIC Conditions of Contract and Polish Building Law and PM is also responsible for acting as the «Engineer» for the purposes of the three Construction Contracts.

PM is also responsible for the provision of technical assistance and training (FIDIC etc.) to the Employer.
