Serbia Waterways Project

PM Group has been working with the EU and the Serbian Government to unlock the potential of the Middle Danube region.

The European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) in Belgrade has retained PM Group to develop a socio-economic study to examine how Serbia’s waterway system can be used to generate economic development in Serbia.
Specifically, PM Group is assisting the following Serbian ministries:

  • Ministry of Capital Investment – assistance to encourage port development by the private sector
  • Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Services - Assistance to support the development of viable tourism projects to promote the Danube as a tourist route. There are many scenic areas and historic cities along its banks.
  • Ministry of Economy and Ministry of International Economic Relations – Assistance to support the development of sector policies for key sectors, especially agri-food
  • Ministries responsible for Waste Management and Environment: To develop projects to tackle flooding in key areas and to prevent industrial and agricultural pollution.
