Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of projects is a key instrument in ensuring that significant environmental impacts are identified and assessed.
Certain new developments or modifications/expansions to existing facilities require a formal EIA as part of the planning process.
Activities requiring a formal EIA are detailed in Schedule 5 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to 2006. Even if a development is not covered by these Regulations, the planning authority may request an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) or an Environmental Report (ER) to be submitted as part of the planning process.
PM provide specialist assistance to companies in preparing planning applications and EIS’s or Environmental Reports.
The EIA is carried out in accordance with Guidelines prepared by the Environmental Protection Agency on EIS preparation.
