Boston Scientific, Cork - Cardiovascular
Following the development of its Galway facility, Boston Scientific decided to locate a large Cardiovascular Devices manufacturing facility in Cork.
The company acquired an existing 2,250m² advance factory building and a 150 year old educational institute building complex.
The objective was to design, modify, fit out and commence manufacturing operations in this advance facility within
a very short timeframe. PM was appointed project and construction manager and was responsible for engineering design. The project presented challenges including a very short timeframe, substantial site infrastructure works and difficult site development. The completed facility was handed over for equipment installation 12 months after construction started. The Cork operation has two two manufacturing facilities for Balloons, Atherectomy, Filters and Neurovascular products.
