The successful candidate will be responsible for developing medical device products with the contract design services team. This position requires a candidate with extensive product development experience in the medical device arena, and one who will be comfortable operating across senior levels in the organisation, the candidate will show capability to lead development projects and have shown competency in customer facing roles. He/She will report to Project Group Managers.

Job Role and Responsibilities

• Leading the product development process from concept generation through to design verification and product commercialisation
• Work with and lead project teams as required in pursuit of customer and Company goals
• Apply new and existing technologies to provide the optimum medical device design
• Proactively lead technical contact with customers, delivering innovating and novel product solutions to our customers
• Work closely with project management in delivering project goals
• Cultivate links with physicians, customers to provide clinically relevant feedback on product designs
• Maintain product files and other relevant documentation to comply with quality standards

Experience:

• 5+ year’s industry experience in a medical product development, R&D or Process Development environment
• Experience from PTA/PTCA, GI, orthopedic and surgical fields
  An engineering, scientific degree, or equivalent
• Significant senior role and project leadership experience will be a distinct advantage
• Knowledge of Medical Device regulatory procedures
• Experience of design tools including SolidWorks/CAD, DOE, 6 sigma principles and practices, FEA, product testing, statistical analysis including Minitab an advantage
• Knowledge of design verification/validation activities including; Sterilization, biocompatibility, packaging, ageing, design verification & process validations
