Supervision of Construction of Granular Activated Carbon Plant and Upgrade of Water Supply Network in Szczecin city
The Municipality of Szczecin in North West Poland is the recipient of a large grant from the EC ISPA Programme which is aimed at upgrading the Municipality’s water supply system. The Works are being tendered under two contracts, one following FIDIC «Yellow Book» conditions of contract (covering design-build construction contract) and the other the traditional FIDIC «Red Book» conditions of contract.
As part of a separate Technical Assistance tender funded by the EC ISPA Programme, an international Consortium led by PM has been selected to provide works contract technical supervision services. The supervision services provided will comply with the requirements of the FIDIC conditions of contract and the Polish Building Law.
Works Contracts
- Construction of the Miedwie to Kijewo duplicate transmission main and northern area water supply mains for the transfer of water.
- Construction of a granular activated carbon plant at the Miedwie water treatment works.
Total value of works is €20M.
Scope of PM Services
Performing the role of «Engineer » on two works contracts based on FIDIC conditions and the Polish Building Law:
- Establishing supervision systems and procedures;
- Establishing Quality Assurance systems, Document Management Systems for management of the TA project;
- Monitoring and reporting on works contractors' progress;
- Checking design compliance of works contractors;
- Contract administration on behalf of the Client;
- Provision of technical support to the Client during the Defects Notification Period.
