Pfizer - Organic Synthesis Plant
PM has worked with Pfizer since the early 70's. This profile gives details of the OSP4 project.
Pfizer was the first major manufacturing company to locate in Cork, Ireland in the early 70's. The original facility comprised an Organic Synthesis plant. Two more (OSP 2 and 3) were added later and in the late 90's, Pfizer confirmed the success of the Cork operation by commissioning work on a fourth Organic Synthesis plant. Its OSP4 plant produces primary pharmaceutical products.
OSP4 is virtually self-contained apart from a waste treatment facility which is shared with the existing plants. The OSP4 development also includes a dedicated materials handling building where batch preparation (dispensing), milling and packaging operations are performed.
PM's role in development of OSP 4 included engineering design and procurement for the Finished Goods building and the Offsites and Utility area. PM also provided validation services for the entire project including the production building. This project was jointly executed with Foster Wheeler and Arup.
